I am glad to invite you to join us next April the 25th, 26th and 27th 2013 to attend our international symposium and study visits on Garden cities development ’Garden cities, an ideal to be pursued" in Paris and the emblematic garden cities of Suresnes, Stains and Chatenay-Malabry.

More than 200 decision-makers - politicians, local authorities, officials and professionals from architecture, heritage, housing, urban development and planning fields will join together during this major exchange meeting planned by IAU-Idf together with IFHP (International Federation for Housing and Planning) and TCPA (Town and Country Planning Association), both created by Ebenezer Howard a hundred years ago, to support his then revolutionary Garden cities concept.

The meeting is targeted to match the challenges of the "city of tomorrow" facing, as a century ago, a housing shortage, needs for good standard social housing and the people’s aspiration to live in mixed and pleasant areas with sufficient "green" and a sound environment, also in dense urban areas

Plus de 200 décideurs - politiques, autorités locales, responsables et professionnels de l’architecture, du patrimoine, du logement, du développement urbain et de la planification, se réuniront au cours de cette réunion d’échange importante organisée par l’IAU-Idf et la COFHUAT, en partenariat avec la FIHUAT (Fédération internationale pour l’habitation et de l’aménagement ) et TCPA (Town and Country Planning Association), toutes deux créées par Ebenezer Howard il ya une centaine d’années, pour porter le projet alors révolutionnaire des cités-jardins

La réunion est destinée à répondre aux défis de la « ville de demain » confrontée aux memes défis qu’il y a un siècle : la pénurie de logements, le besoin de logements sociaux de qualité, et l’aspiration des peuples à vivre dans des zones sociales et fonctionnelles mixtes et agréables, dans un environnement sain, y compris dans les zones urbaines denses
