FICEMEA promotes a pedagogical identity,inspired by the principles of New Education, with a secular approach. It gives priority to an intercultural identity, withing vision of shared valious to overcomes differences.

It aims to encourage exchanges and experiences through its different projects, relying on the cultural diversity of its members. It is a pedagogical movement which has the speciality/ or uniqueness of bringing together both researchers and experts, as well as volunteers from social and educational fields, beneficiaries, professional staff. All these actors bring in their different experiences.

On the international level, FICEMEA is involved in various different educational areas : youth, training, infancy, environment, education for everyone. Networking is one of its strategies to promote the globalisation of rights for education and for training to help bring about local development.

FICEMEA has set up and coordinates several networks such as the European Infancy Network, the African Infancy Network, the Indian Ocean Infancy Network, and the Sustainable Environmental Development. More recently, it established the FORUMEDUC Network, which aims to promote New Education within the present context of globalisation.
